Develop A Positive Attitude Toward
Difficult Child Behavior

When we are with children, we are raising those children.  It doesn’t matter if you are the parent or not.  You are influencing the children in your surroundings through your thoughts, feelings, speech and actions.

There are so many complaints about children today, but the fact is that kids reflect their environments and the people who inhabit them.  As adult behavior descends into more unconsciousness children respond with more unconscious retaliation.

The attitude that we have toward children is an experience that we give to ourselves and an influence that we share with the children.  If you feel impatient, critical or condescending toward a child you give yourself that negative emotional experience in the way you respond to what you observe.  The child is not responsible for how we behave.

The child who receives an attitude of annoyance on a regular basis is unconsciously identifying with that attitude, meaning that the child will develop a negative attitude toward himself or herself.  The child then behaves consistently with that attitude.

The child who sees himself as an annoyance is literally programmed to act out in ways that annoy.  The child who sees herself as a disappointment feels blocked from demonstrating behaviors that would inspire admiration, approval and respect.

How we feel about children is something we can change for the better when we accept total responsibility for how we feel, and understand how important it is for us, and for the children we respond to, to feel better.

How you feels sends out a vibration that draws to you events, circumstances and relationships that reinforce and even deepen that feeling.  When you live in a feeling of love, acceptance and forgiveness you experience more harmonious situations, events and relationships that seem to love you right back.

Life sends a challenging child into our lives when it is time for us to grow more loving.
